on the omlet side it says that bark chippings are great for chicken run floors on hard standing so this is what ive done, i had a bag here for round the pond but ive put it down in there and will see how it gets on.


ive put bluey in there (yesterday) so just seeing how she gets on before i get a couple more to go in there with it

We've found that the bark on the concrete tends to hold the water for days after it rains. Makes things a bit messy but better than bare concrete.

thats a fair point rob,

iva cut  some ply to go on the top of the rin to stop lots of the rain so shouldnt be to much of a problem i dont think

ive got a problem with the new house!

the daft chicken walks down to the run but cant find its was up again :roll:

had to put it in the house for the second night so im gonna se about mounting the house on the side of the run so it can walk in

She should get the hang of it - we had to do the same with ours for a while. If they were out in the garden it was harder as they would be trying to roost in random places - plant pots being a favourite! They all know what is going on now and go up and down all day.
