Egg Incubator Temperature Problem
« on: May 18, 2008, 14:04 »
Well. I went to my friend's house to spend the night last night and all I asked my mom to do was turn the eggs once at 6pm. She did.. But she left the incubator lid somewhat off. So I checked the temperature this morning and it was still in the 90's. But I'm afraid it could have possibly killed the eggs. Because it was like that since about 6pm last night.

Do you think the eggs could have possibly survived?

hi,
I'm not an expert but I think you have a reasonable chance of at least some of your eggs surviving. It depends to a degree on how long they have been incubating. The embryos are most delicate at the very begining and end of incubation, how far along are yours? Think all you can do is to keep going and see what happens. Good luck and let us know how they get on.
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

The chicken eggs are about a week old, and the duck eggs have about a week left of incubation.

they should be ok at 90 all it should do is slow them down a bit so they may hatch a bit later than planed

so if they dont hatch on the right day dont give up on them wait a few more days
