Only on weekdays from 4.30 until dusk.  That means not at all during deepest winter!

We are allowed bonfires but they are not recommended as we are completely surrounded by houses.  One lotty holder used to have a bonfire every day.  He was reported to the council but still carried on.  A couple of weeks ago his shed mysteriously burnt down one night!!

I have fond memories of back in the old days when bonfires were popular having a fire with my Dad down the garden.

We are not aloud fires in the back garden so the only place I can have one with my Son is down on the allotment. We have a one hour before dusk rule and then have to put the fire out before we leave.

When we moved into our home one of the first things I did was make a fire ring out of large concrete blocks stacked two high at the side of the vegetable garden area.

Now that we have reclaimed the area it doesn't get used often but every once in awhile the stack of twigs, weeds, leaves, etc., gets large enough that I will light a fire and away it goes.

I like a tidy garden.
