My new duck & geese house I've built.

I've built these for not alot from shopping around, using pallets, pound shop items, recycling etc. Also from what we already had in the shed and hanging around. I'd say both have cost less than £100.

The one with the wire is for the geese. The other one is for the bali ducks.

Have to say they look fab but I also thought they might get too warm in the sunshine. Is there a way you could shade the roof and make it opaque so that it can still work as guttering but also offer shade which they really like.
Be like a duck. Calm on the surface but always paddling like the dickens underneath.

Both houses have got a sheet of wood underneath. It is on there just as protection from the rain. I may paint it white or silver though to reflect any heat. I didn't want to use felt as it harbours red mite. I've used the polycarbonate twin wall on my hen house & its great. You put it on a certain way up and it reflects the heat. In the winter it keeps the heat in (thermal).

Fab!

Even better in that ducks don't get red mite apparently. Never seen any near mine.
