Hi,

I have got an ancient flymo strimmer  (>looks like this<) and I bought a spool of line yesterday and I stupidly though (no not logically thought  :roll:) flymo spools would be a universal fit. Turns out that I was wrong. Anyway does anybody know any tried and tested ways of improvising a fit/attaching the line?   :roll:  :roll:

Is your original spool intact ? if so re thread it, theres usually an arrow on the spool, I'm sure that the direction you need to wind the line on, buy the thinnest line, if not you could try taking it to B&Q the have or used to have loads of generic equivalents even better if you know the model number of the strimmer or spool part number.

If you don't know the model number, give another yell. a friend of mine has the self same strimmer, he might have a part number......

OK problem solved! No I didn't have the original spool or I could have simply rewound it, although a hacksaw, a file and a sheet of sandpaper, and I have a fully functioning spool that fits...
