We have a Cucumber!

We are a family of cucumber lovers and after loosing 7 out of 9 plants, im delighted to have have 2 growing strong and producing fruit!

taste is completely different from shop bought cucumbers as well
I had 6 plants but have lost them all except one, which is now producing fruits. Think its the cold nights thats killing them off.

I've got 6 in the greenhouse.. 4 'normal' ones and 2 that produce yellow round globe like fruits!

There are tiny little fruits on the normal plants but the globe ones are a bit slow at the moment!

It's quite amazing watching them develop.

We originally had these in grow bags but they didnt do well. Since moving them to 15" pots they have taken well!

Got 5 more planted in the green house to try as well! These will go straight in to pots!

The yellow jobs are hardy outdoor cukes, any rate will have hell of a job pollinating them in the gh.

At what size should i pick it? Do i let it grow to the size i get in Asda or should i pick smaller?

They tend to be tastier and more nutritious at a smaller size, say about 4 inches.

Which type is that lovely baby cuc? The only one I have developing has raised dots on it. Think it got fertilised by a male flower before I got to it. Shall I remove it or leave it? Mine are telegraph imroved, unfortunately outdoors.

its not the size its what you do with it ,

planted 3 cucumber plants in cultivars ( 12 inch flower plots with bottoms sawn off )

we have 3 strong plants and 6 x 1 inch cucumber growing so far ,

last year we grew more than 30 cucumbers from 2 plants ,
