Feed storage
« on: May 21, 2011, 10:54 »
Thought I'd share my dads idea. My mom and dad had nowhere to store there chicken feed corn or grit to keep it dry so dad went into the local Indian takeaway and found they would give him their mango chutney tubs for free to him they look like this... .http://www.adamscashandcarry.co.uk/catalogue/40kg-mango-chutney-p-450.html?osCsid=8df488fac17ee5e0d44d65d45947a9e5. They hold a whole sack of feed or corn plus have handles so u can lug them around.

That's one BIG tub! And possibly more secure than a clip lid plastic dustbin which is also quite a useful feed storage container. :)

wow wat a good idea i wonder how my local would take me asking for their bins.
ps how do you turn them into feeders?

With my hospital date looming it would help my family to put the feeders in to action?

Wish stuff here came in those plastic containers. For my pigeon feed, I bought several galvanized trash bins with lids at a boot sale. Bins were new and we always line them with X large bin bags. The mice can't get through metal at all.

Hi

We attached legs with an angle cut and placed one of these in the bottom, they are very simple to make.
