[poor gardener Joe]

Hello. I would love to grow Lemongrass, after spending all this afternoon looking for some
bo buy to make Thai curry.
Can anyone give me a decent hint as to how I would go about seeding / growing it and looking after the crop.

I grew some last year out of stuff I bought from supermarket I just stood it in a glass of water for a few days ( changing the water every other day) it soon let down some roots I potted it up outside and it got quite big untill the frost got it

I have grown it from seed. To do this you need to start it off early (late feb) to get a decent usable herb. I started seeds off in a heated propagator and as its such a pretty grassy plant a put it out side in a container and bought it indoors for the winter and kept it going for two seasons. Unfortunately I kept it In a cold greenhouse last winter and it died. It needs to be kept in the house during the winter. I will try it again next year.

I've raised it from seed and it grows easily.  It has to be kept indoors really and I failed to over winter mine but that's not a problem really as it grows so readily.  I put mine outside on the patio but once the wind whipped up it really knocked it about.
