Does anyone know if I could use droppings and bedding material (usually wood shavings) from my Chinchillas on the compost heap?

droppings would be fine but wood shavings will take up nitrogen to breakdown and will take a long time. i would put the wood shaving to one side and let woodlices and worms do the job of breaking it down.

Put the wood shavings in too. Everything uses up nitrogen to breakdown but it returns later in the process. Just remember not too much of 1 item without mixing.
