we have some cauliflowers about the size of a mans fist, when should we harvest them ? i dont want them to go to seed like our broccoli has.

I think that if they've got enough water they'll keep getting bigger. To answer your question directly I watch to se e if the heads are starting to open up before picking.

yes ...keep your eye on them,,,they can blow over night,,,best to pick small or lose them    gl

Picking caulis seems to be a black art. It has taken me years to say pick it now though small or pick it tomorrow. Oh and picking the brains of the experienced locals for getting conditions right.

Remember there are small type and large type... A fist size is the small type where the large type can grow to the size of a mans head.. What type are yours?

ive grown autumn giants and ive had some real corkers at mo not bothered how big they get just pikkin as we need one had 4 about size of babies head just enuff for tea  caulis that his not babies lol more thn happy with them will be growing again
