Hi. Am new to this but am wondering if anyone can help. I have a beautiful black orpington (Bessie) who has been sick for about a week. We had red mite, so treated the house and the hens. Since then, Bessie has stopped eating, has yellow droppings, wont come out in the morning or go in at night, sleeps under the hedge most of the day and is generally looking miserable. I took her to the vet 2 days ago thinking she had worms. The vet gave her some drops but there is still no change. Any ideas/suggestions would be really appreciated.

do you know what the vet gave her for worms ?
the general use by the experienced keepers on this site is flubenvet for worms, verm x is an alternative.
poultry shield will help eradicate red mite, and diatom will help to keep down their numbers.
she may still be feeling unwell, so try a tonic to help her get back to her old self, life guard is added to water, and the dose can be altered slightly to help a bird get over stress, poultry spice is added to their food.
i would certainly try a tonic, but if she is no better take her back to the vet.
