I have been chitting my earlies & second earlies, the firsts are fine, but the second earlies have got white sprouts rather than green. I know this is because they have obviously not had enough light. I have now moved them into a lighter area.

Can I get these seed potatoes to chit properly now or has the white sprouts ruined my chances of using them.

Any advice will be most welcome.

they should be fine, as long as the potatoes havent gone soft.

how long are the shoots? when ours arrived i left them in the sack for a couple of days in the kitchen and when i took them out some had small white shoots on but within a couple of days in the light they changed colour and are doing fine

No the spuds are firm, and the shoots aren't very big, just 2-4mm. Some have fallen off, I will leave them where they are and see how they do.
