  i let the girls out this morning, three came out, but Bocky (i think!) stayed in, sat in the corner. I had noticed a couple of runny poos, so thought maybe she was a little more upset by the travelling that the others, and let her rest.

Then about an hour later, 9.30ish, i came down to fit hasps and padlocks to the house and run, due to the vandalism weve had recently. All four were out. Sam opened the nest box to look in, and in the far corner of the house -



so Bocky wanst upset, but busy!

Im just so amazed, weve had them less than a day! Clever, gorgeous girls!

Julie tried to say she wasnt fussed, having been brought up on a smallholding with chooks etc, but she was excited as me and Sam

Henny, Penny, Becky and Bocky

Sam, whos 4, thought them up himself. But we had a suspicion we had heard henny-penny before. Julie has just looked the name up and found its from the 'the sky is falling' fable, which we only knew as chicken little

i guess Henny-penny is the kind of thing little child would come up with

Congratulations on getting your first egg    so who is going or has eaten it.  I had our first egg boiled it was delicious but that was about 2 years ago now.

we shared it, boiled. Shes only laying small ones so far (third today) and it was too small for the eggcup, so i had to pad it with kitchen towel.

oh and some nice soldiers!

it was lovelly. Saving no.'s 2 and 3, and tomorrows, to do the missus scrambled eggs on toast for tea

Hubby said he need 4 eggs to take to work on sunday.  His work mate is making him Haddock and poached eggs if he supplies the fresh eggs!
