Punk isn't dead...it's underground where it belongs. If it comes to the surface it's no longer punk...it's Green Day!

In the back of my mind was the prediction of a new ice age coming made in the 70's - perhaps the warming will be balanced out.

nooo, it will get warm, the ice caps will melt, the gulf stream and atlantic conveyor system will become diluted and cease transfering heat, so the ice caps will grow again and we'll all FREEEEEEZE  :?

... you're a cheery lot I must say.

The earth temperature fluctuates, and whether the current changes are due to global warming or not, it's been through drought and ice ages in the past.  The earth will survive, humans may not.

I'm with Wellingtons....I think it's just another cycle....we're overdue an ice age though.  I'll be ok with sea levels rising but i'll probably have a beach property!

I'll go with the natural cycle theory.  Mr Puff is big on this and reckons that whatever we do, we are incapable of having a huge impact on climate cycles that are in place already.

However, as we live only 9 metres above sea level, I'll just get on with building that ark out of pallets

I think it`s natural inasmuch as any species thats population is too great for the resources available or destroys the habitat will loose many because that is what is happening here.So if the sea rises sufficiently many in les developed countries will die, droughts will kill, farming land will be reduced that and less imported food will affect us.But eventually there will be too few humans around and slowly the planet will be able to return to some sort of equilibrium.
Warming and cooling are natural phenomenon but that doesn`t mean we haven`t had an effect, this isn`t happening at a slow pace that we can necessarily adapt to and with all the technology that we rely on do we know how to adapt?
I don`t normally do this until evening with a glass in my hand!
