I know I'm a little late but I've a couple of packs of sweetcorn seed sitting here next to me.

Any tips on how to get them going in a hurry? Any point in soaking overnight?

You can sow them outdoors or chit them.

Soaking made a day or two difference with mine, so that the ones I sowed as an afterthought sprouted at the same time as the rest.

Sow\Plant them in blocks rather than rows to help pollination.

i have a seed sprouter, for sprouting mung beans to grow beansprouts to eat in salad, or stir fries, i have used that to chit them. i soaked them overnight and then after that rinsed them twice a day. They are chitting really well, and about 5mm long now, i only started them a few days ago.
