If the problem is inbreeding then I would have to part with Alvin    no way. I will have to make sure that I dont let any of Popcorn and Toyahs eggies get under a broody.
When I get my new girls I shall be studying the eggies like a hawk :) so I can differentiate and make sure the right eggies turn into healthy chickies
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my mind the most!!

But, given that I have had the Poland adults for over a year, and the babies born from April have died, and no other chook has been affected, could it actually be Mareks. Surely if it was any type of contagious virus it would have affected some of the other chooks?
What do you think??????????????????????

Chickens develop an age immunity to Marek's and don't tend to be killed by it after the age of about 40 weeks.  Not  hard and fast 'rule' of cause.
