My uncle grew one of these this year with outstanding results. I took a coulpe of fruits to save the seed from however I looked up the variety and notice that it is F1. Does this mean that I shouldn't bother with the seeds?

i wouldnt bother rutters mate ,just buy some new seed ,i find trying to grow f1 throwbacks isnt viable for taste etc

Muntys right,you may waste months of growing time for nothing.
They may even look alright but no taste or so few will grow that it will be a waste of time.

Start looking now in all the garden centers you may pick up an out of season bargain
