Sabelpoot chick pics
« on: May 23, 2010, 20:03 »
I know some people (ahem *joyful*) have been waiting to see my baby Sabelpoots...

Of the 5 chicks which pipped, only 2 made it, and both had a traumatic hatching and had to be helped from thier shell (I think I need to double check the humidity in my incy, as the membranes were drying very quickly, even though humidity was 65%)

After a very dodgy 24 hours, they are both happy and cheeping away, and are in the brooder with my other 3 day old chicks.

So, here they are...

Just for interest... one of my poots with a standard Marans chick:

they are just so dinky and cute  :D
it looks like you may have a mille fleur and a porcelain one, wait until their feathery feet grow - the 4 that I have at Grannie Annies (now aged 4 weeks) have enormouse feathery feet, sadly I have 2 boys and 2 girls so have now got to find homes for the 2 boys which will leave me with my original boy and 3 girls for him  :).
You can tell the sex of them very quickly.
Hope yours are ok now after their hatching problems  :).
they are very vocal
Staffies are softer than you think.

love their feathered feet - do they walk like Charlie Chaplin yet? I had thought you had a lemon one but both now look the same colouring  :D

No, Bimble (the top one) is porcelain (and is a very pretty lavender colour at the moment) and Bumbe (the bottom one) is lemon millefleur.

They are still zooming around like overgrown bumblebees though
