I picked out 3 day old chicks for my broody hen in middle of August.  2 have grown into cockerals but what on earth is this?  It's definitely not what I was expecting to get!!  I think it may be a shamoo (?) but is it male or female?

Not sure what it is mum, but it's definitely a game bird of some sort.  Can't tell what it is either, but at 5 months, it should start trying to crow or lay an egg soon!

Yup looks shamo to me as i have these game birds. Mine are asils (aseels) your's might be shamo. Mine started to crow at 7 months. Check the head if the comb is big should b a male.. If it's more like flat female.. Hard to tell without looking at the face.. I could sex mine at 4-6 weeks just by looking at heads

You can sell them on birdtrader for good money have a look on there for others see how much they go for.

Thank you for the advice.  Having seen the prices I sold her very quickly. She's gone to live with 3 other shamos. Her new owner gas sent me picture and she looks happy with others of her kind!
