What's a sticky? I entered it in the help bit and got advice abouty cleaning jam jars.

A sticky is a type of posting that stays at the top of the forum even if people don't add to it.

Used for important announcements, ongoing threads to avoid duplication etc.

A sort of "post it" note that won't come off. (Until the mods say so!).
 
In general it's the mods that will post a sticky, or decide whether an existing thread becomes one.
