Oh I've deleted the monthly news letter that warns us about not using manure from farms and stables.  Has anyone saved it and if so can I have another copy please!!

This is the section from the news letter :

Normally I try to be upbeat, but I'm afraid there is bad news forall vegetable growers, and not just in the UK. Recently farmershave begun using a new selective weedkiller called Aminopyralid. It's powerful and cost effective, needing just a 5ml teaspoon persquare metre to wipe out weeds, leaving the grass family untouched. Unfortunately it binds to the crop and passes through cattle to beexcreted in the urine.  So we get some manure from a farmer or a stable to improve the soilfertility and this stuff is in it. The first you know is when yourpotatoes or beans are dying.  I really can't over state how serious this is. It will change theway we grow. I've written an article about it and will post updatesas I find out more: http://www.allotment-garden.org/manure.htm

Many thanks

We have just bought some compost from the local council - so hope it is just recycled waste.  Will phone them tomorrow to find out  - if possible.
The publically owned victorian garden gave some manure for free  to another local allotment society and it contained this and it has ruined many of the allotment holders veg!
