6 become 2, the boys have gone
« on: May 26, 2011, 22:43 »
My 4 boys have gone back to their egg home (my friend who supplied them). I have added some photos of their last day and their last night all sleeping together. Did get a bit misty eyed saying good night and having a last cuddle yesterday.
Please feel free to tell me they are girls so I can go and get them back.  The photos arent brilliant, normally my phone is good but not this time.

think you are right - they look like boys to me. So are you going to buy some more pulllets or try hatching again?
Staffies are softer than you think.

I was thrilled to raise from hatched for the first time and only did this as I knew the boys would be sorted  but dont think i shall be doing it again due to the boy risk. I am now desperate to buy 2 more 8 week old girls in the next week, so am now trawling the net looking.

so are you after any breed in particular? Sadly my aracana and araucana crosses are too young as they are only about two weeks old (and aras are difficult to sex) otherwise you could have had a couple of them. Last year I gave my neighbour 6 and 5 of those turned out to be boys

I don't think so, my dh loves Marans as his grandad used to have them. Primarily they are our pets so not particularly after heavy layers. So i guess if i like the look of them and they let me give them a cuddle thats the criteria. The legbars seemed quite friendly though that may not remain the case as they get older.
