Are soft egg shells a sign of an ill chicken?

I have had my 4 chickens for just over 2 months.  When I got them they were POL.  They have been laying perfect eggs but today there was an egg with a soft shell.  As I'm new to all this, I'm not very sure if this is because one of the girls are ill.  Any info on what to do would be great. :)

the odd softee is nothing to worry about, just make sure they have access to oyster shell or washed, baked and crushed egg shells all the time and dark leafy greens (the greens help with the absorption of the calcium)  :)

Thanks very much for that  :)  They have oyster shells and grit but don't seem to really bother with it.  Gave them sprouts today but they weren't impressed!!! Will give them some cabbage tomorrow.

You can get a soft shell when they are still learning about laying even if you have had no probs up to now :)
