One of my hens was sick today does anyone know why this could be and does it happen often (by this i mean is it anything to worry about).
33 chickens and 2 lil call ducks woohoo

her food is kept in a bin with a lid in the shed never really smelt her breath though Sally  :)

Go and pick her up and feel her crop,  is it all squishy  :?:  and dose she need a mouth wash  :?: :lol:

If the answer is yes to both, then she could have sour crop  :!:

if the seed gets damp air on it it can produce  mould  and this will upset the birds digestion .also the mash can do the same it is important not to let damp get to it . sounds like its sour crop to me .dont feed her for a couple days until its passed through you can expel it from her mouth but for the panic the bird suffers i would just starve her . feeding greens only to get the mush through her system .
