Hi guys I recently planted some strawberries from seed. My question is, will I get a crop of strawberries this year or will it be next? If so, is it too late to buy some strawberry plants?

I haven't tried growing strawberries from seed (except for alpines) but you can still get strawberries at the garden centre (bought some myself just this weekend in fact).  I am only expecting to get a few strawberries from them this year but hope to get a few runners to increase my stock for next year.

Allegedly (my first year too) you won't get any from the seed and a few from plants.  They are at their peak around 3 to 4 years old then they wane.

I'm growing strawberries from seed this year myself, don't half seem to be slow growers compared to other seedlings I've got in.
These are the ones I've bought. Looking forward to some juicy strawberries on day.
