Hi everyone,
Hope someone can help me.  I recently bought 4 Chooks from a free range farm that was clearing out for re-stock (they are 72 weeks old). The chooks layed an egg each for the first 10 days, but for the last 5 days they have stopped laying completely.  I have checked for mites on them and in their house and cannot see any.  Would be gratefull for any suggestions. Please help!!! :cry:

have you changed their food? mine also are 72 weeks old and are ex barn hens, they are laying like crazy, i asked the farmer who gave them to me what was best for them regarding food, and he said keep them on the same food that they were accustomed to, ( layers pellets) he said if i changed their diet they might go off lay, it's worth a thought, hope this helps.

Thanks "too many girls" will check what feed they were on at the farm. Still no eggs today but they are still eating and drinking well and they appear well,  maybe its the easy life they have now and theyre just plain lazy !!!
