A few years ago, before I had an allotment all my veg was grown in pots.

All my :-

beans & peas
Potatoes
Sweetcorn
Cauliflower & Broccoli
Tomatoes
Radish
Carrot & Parsnip
Onions
Herbs
Turnip & Swede
Chilli
Lettuce
Kale
Cucumber

I'm sure there was more, but all came up with plenty of watering to make sure the pots didn't dry out & all had a little feed twice a week

For the 3-D effect I've just bought some obelisks from Wilko and shall be trying them out for small winter squash.  They were only about £6 each and are just the right size for a large pot. At 6ft high, I reckon they'll be ideal for peas, beans, cues etc and don't take up too much space. :-)

If you go to the Wilko site and type it in Jay, they have quite a few and also some really pretty trellises.  You can order stuff for delivery to the store and pick it up when you're ready, which is useful when they have an offer on and you can't get out.  :)

Apart from a herb garden and a strawberry patch, everything I grow is in pots. Last year's success stories for me were:

tomatoes (especially bush variety: three to a pot last year gave me toms all the way through the summer)

lettuce and salad leaves (so expensive in the shop, so easy to grow in pots)

radishes (4 rectangular pots, planted every 2 weeks in an 8 week cycle from April to September)

peas and beans (only dwarf beans, as not a fan of runners)

potatoes (well, in empty compost bags, not pots)

currants (white, red and black)

physallis (just one plant gives an excellent yield and comes back year after year)
