I want to make a raised strawberry bed should I use manure if so how much in proportion to soil etc. Any advice welcome.

Definitely add manure to all berry beds, that's where the flavour comes from. As to ratios, you can do about 1/3 in old manure and you'll have a fabulous crop next season.
