This is my first post in this area, I've been bugging the life out of the advice section. But anyways

2 MORE DAYS then my 3 shaver browns arrive.

My 2 yr old has named them

C:Cock-adoodle-do
Me: I'm not calling one of them Cock sweetie, you'll understand when you're older
C: Not Cock mummy, Choc
Me:OK, Choc I'll do

So our ladies will be:
Choc
Doodle
Do

She's told everyone at nursery and now our neighbours are getting some too

I'm very excited.  Thank you all for helping me through my steep learning curve

You'll spend hours watching them, they're fascinating. Handy that your neighbours also getting some, you can take it in turns to look after them if you want to go away at all.

OMG - They're coming in half an hour.  Just spoke to the breeder and as he lives in the village next to mine and he's passing through, he's bringing them over shortly.

I think I'm going to wet myself with excitement.  AND it gives the girls chance to settle in as my 1 & 2 yo are with the grandparents and not home until lunchtime tomorrow

Arghhhhhhhh.  No one here to get excited with

(Oh and I'd already told the neighbours they were chicken sitters, now I get to return the favour!)

Luckily its a bank holiday weekend so a perfect excuse to do nothing (except chicken watch of course)

They're here and they are BEAUTIFUL!  Pics to follow once they upload in a minute or two.  I love them.  They've found their food and the corn I'd scattered, yet to try out their house or come across the water yet

OK, that's alright then, 2 are in bed now.  Of course 1 of them has decided the ledge between the nest box is the best place. Grumble grumble.

So tomorrow hubby has the joy of raising the roosting bars by a couple of inches tomorrow - joys of a cheap internet cheapy

If you are this excited by them arriving (I'm sure we were all the same by the way) just imagine the excitement the first time you get an egg     It will feel like you have won the lottery!!
