On a Sunday I should by rights be getting ready to go to the allotment, but I have work to do..... not what I was expecting when working for myself. But that's the nature of swings and roundabouts!

Off to work today as well.  In theory I could have had a lie-in as it is a later start today. 

In practise, they were doing the dreaded pile driving over at Reading station (big re-vamp underway) and the noise drifted accross the river and woke me up

Lay in here having nice cuppa looking out at the rain. Got up earlier to take the bacon out of the smoker. I had visions of it having gone out, even though I got up to check in the middle of the night with the same feeling and was, gladly, proven wrong.

Been up a couple of hours now, had a breakfast I have not had for a few years. 2 smoked Manx kippers. Very nice indeed.

Off to pick up a couple of goslings for OH to raise for his end of year dinner. I can see them dying of old age meself!

As we are too early we will call in to see if we can find the bee eaters which are returning to BG at the moment, lots flying over already.

Bee eaters! Brilliant. How big are they? I've not seen one in real life.

Well I'll sign in as the first for the morning then Paul. Been awake on & off all night, hubby is very restless & that disturbed me I think so I've finally given in. Was too warm & had to open the big window & the birds were making a right racket  . Lovely as it is to lay listening when you don't need to be asleep, not so great when you can't get back to sleep before a busy work day

I have been good lately not waking much before 8am but this morning for whatever reason I am awake now

Blergh.  Didn't get to bed until 12.30am after picking up daughter- she gets a lay-in late start (free period first lesson) I get to drive the youngest to the tram.....
