Bit busy
« on: October 05, 2009, 19:18 »
Bit of a long weekend on the plot. Got through loads of jobs:

Saturday 7.30am to 4pm

Screwed down the new FREE Greenhouse onto sleepers (dug into ground) than glazed it.

Cropped last of Raspberries and than cut down the canes. Tidyed bed up.

Weeded and than rotavated 3 large beds. Raked them fully. Sowed Grazing Rye in one. Limed other. Watered.

Double dug next years spud bed.

Started the bonfire from the Plum Tree prunings cut 2 weeks ago at 12pm.

New Comfrey bed prepared ready for next weeks Comfrey plants.

Scattered ashes onto Spud bed.

Omg! Pompey won!!

2 cans of Fosters

Sunday 1pm

Barrowed 1.5 tonnes of delivered manure 60m to my plot. Covered next years potato bed.

Mulched Raspberries/Asparagus with the manure as well.

Dug manure into new Greenhouse beds.

Slept well.

 Did you barrow that manure by yourself? I got a m3 bag of blended horse muck and a bag of topsoil delivered today and the thought of barrowing it from front to back garden (170') is making me depressed. Did 5 bags in spring but had 6 helpers and it still took all day (ok....4 were kids ::)...say no more!) How long did it take you?

Took about 2 1/2 hours to shift. Was going flat out as the forecast was heavy rain for this week.

To say I slept well was an understatement.
