I had a problem with some of my potato plants in the early summer which I thought was blackleg, I still think some had blackleg but I have this year lost a lot of potatoes in storage due to brown streaks running the length of the tuber through the flesh.

I came across a disease that is starting to go world wide called Zebra chip disease on the internet today and it certainly looks like this on the tuber and it also shows on the leafy plant growth as well, I put up a thread several months ago on this website with a photo to ask if anyone knew what was causing this with a photo and the pictures of top growth, today I viewed pictures that were identical to the one used in my earlier thread and all to do with Zebra chip disease.

My question is has anyone else had a problem with stored potatoes this year with similar streaking through the tuber ?

Yes it looks like those links you put up Andy especially the potato one, cant remember with my toms as they got done by blight in a few days later in the year.

I still might have some in the recyling bin so I will go and see if they are still in there and I will cut the tuber to compare.

Thats what I was thinking... it's been doing the rounds across the pond for a few years, hit New Zealand, hit Russia and has been heading across eastern Europe...
My worry is.... if Nash's spuds are showing ZCD, do we have anything to worry about?

If being the operative word here....it may look like it, but is it actually the same thing?

None officially reported in the UK yet!

So I'm still more worried about blight, put it that way   :(

Luckily there were still some in the recycling bin so I washed  them and cut them

What do you think it might be ?

Or Internal Brown spot? (A physiological condition rather than a disease which would be better news.)
