Greyhound cabbage
« on: June 14, 2010, 20:42 »
I'm told Greyhound is a good variety for growing as it is supposed to be quick growing. Will I be okay to start now with this variety or should I look elsewhere for cabbage at this time of the season?
I wouldn't say I was the best manager for the job,but I would say I'm in the top one! (Brian Clough)

Yes it is, we have already harvested a couple of these - they taste wonderful and we had no problems at all with growing it, unlike the moody runner beans, courgettes, no-show parsnips etc etc etc ....

It's a bit late for sowing seed now but if someone is offering you plants to set out you can harvest them up until about August.

It is a bit late to sow Greyhound seed but if you don't have plants but do have a greenhouse it may be worth a try sowing a few to see what happens.  At the very least you will end up with something like spring greens.  Give it a go there's nothing to lose.
