[New shoot]

Well been quiet in chook town until today.  Alphie has settled down nicely with the supermodels 



Then yesterday, 2 scraggy little herberts turned up 





The supermodels looked down their beaks, but the new girls just blew raspberries back and carried on hoovering down chick crumbs.  'Wait till we get out of our awkward teenage stage'  they whispered to each other and retired to their bedroom to get some beauty sleep

The top one is a Chocolate Wyandotte bantam and the second one is a Blue Orpington bantam and the amount of chick crumbs they are woofing down in a day is staggering   :blink:

Is it normal for chicks to eat their own body weight every hour

Oh the new little girls are lovely!  The Supermodels will have to try allsorts of publicity stunts to stop the new girls getting all the attention!  Have any of them tried to hit the photographer with their handbags yet?

Not yet but I'm sure they will be papped headline grabbing soon    Got to clean everyone out today so the Herberts may get their first taste of being on the lawn as I will put them in the run underneath their house.   Expecting much running around in circles madly flapping and cheeping (them not me I hasten to add)

Oh they are darling!  I bet if they are eating their own weight in food every hour they are pooing it out at the same rate!     But they are so adorable!

Well Lindeggs was right in thinking the Supermodels were not going to give up the limelight without a fight.

The Herberts were having their first outing on the lawn

Sooooooooooo - are we up for more Herbert piccies today.  Day off today and planning to try and teach them to use their ladder to get up and down off the grass.  They are currently terrified of it

Our chicks tried to fly up to rather than use that evil ramp!  We always ended up having to lift one up into the hen house at night.  Oh, those were the days!

Well eventfull day.  Found lice on some of the gang so everyone got dusted with louse powder much to their horror and disgust 

Alphie and the Supermodels tormented the main gang through the wire.  The boys were both trying to eat the same comfrey leaf between giving each other the evil eye 



The Herberts did master the ramp and took themselves off to bed tonight on their own.  Well they were tired after a day of alternatively sunbathing and running round like flipperty gibberts
