Perhaps it means they are large for that type   We have some old rose and the flowers are very small compared to modern varieties but the scent from them is a knock-out.

I'm hoping that someone will know this rose.  I can find flowers that look similar but the habit never matches up.
It goes up into a tree about 20ft.  Its very healthy and has flowers for 10 months of the year.  I can always do a table decoration for Christmas with them. Thats what you call repeat flowering

It has great clusters of frilly single flowers but no scent.

Any ideas

Well, i have what i think is Rambling Rector and the growth is nothing like that so i suppose its more climber , there just so much of it. I gave  the north side of it quite a hair cut in the spring but its come back stronger than ever.  It must have been in 30 years so it will have a big deep root system.

The lady who planted it had a love of plants from Australia, could it be one that is known more there than here

No, mines a lot more rampant, also the flowers hang in big clusters like a floribunda and the flower petals are frilly

That does look more like it and the description sounds about right.   But again that looks a single flower and these are big clusters  that sort of hang. Its very close and it may be just the picture angle and its the closest to it i've ever seen, well done :)
It is a bit nice isn't it :)

As I've said before, you have some lovely things growing in your garden, and you gradually show us a bit more :)..........

I do like the look of 'Peace' Leaner, may have to go looking for that one.

We have 1 very old rose ('Rosus unknown inheritedus' ;)) that chucks up a few red flowers each year, and a rambler that had a serve hair cut this year and finally decided to throw up a mass of small white flowers.

Not really got enough space for roses, but think Peace may get sneaked in!

Mrs L (who gardens at home) says "roses don't do well in this garden" so I have five on the plot for cut flowers and because I love them.

The two most recent additions (Great Expectations and Happy Retirement) were both presents.  ;)
