Help Green Moss on compost?
« on: March 30, 2007, 09:32 »
Help. Over the last day or so a green covering of what looks like the start of moss type growth on the top of my compost on the modules which have onions and leeks in. Have I kept them too wet? Are they going to be ok? What do I do now? I sowed them end of Jan in modules where they still sit. They are up to around 3-4 inches tall but still very thin and starting to get a bit wispy (starting to lean over).
The force is strong in this one!
(As Organic as possible)

Too early to plant them out, replant them into 3-4"pots,scraping the algae off as you do them.

Well, 350 miles further North & 600ft above sea level, mine are outside and looking pretty good.  They are hardy little devils.

Just my opinion WG,not much point in having a forum where only one persons opinion counts.

Couldn't agree more, beansticks.  Not much chance of that happening on a healthy forum like this though!

I've decided to take both your advice. One tray will go out and one into pots and see how it goes. Thanks guys!
