To snip, or not to snip, that is the question:
Whether 'tis better for the life of the Tomato
to remove the first seedling leafs now that
they are showing their true leafs?

Answers on a post code to

I really don't have a clue about growing from seed but I'm having real fun learning

Or alternatively just answer here please  ;)

I've never removed the seed leaves. They'll dry up and drop off when the plant no longer needs them.

Paul.
I can remember when it were all fields round `ere.

Just leave them s cutting may introduce diease or virus, the leaves will drop off when they are on no more use

I like to pot the Toms on deep so i pinch the seed leaves off with my finger and thumbnails.

I always use new commercial compost so viruses should not be an issue* .

I remove mine and then repotted them on as the little bits of the stalk e.g like hairs will turn into roots so I pot them to the first set of leaves.
Kind Regards
