What's happening with Raspberries
« on: May 23, 2021, 22:16 »
Hello again  :). We only have 2 raspberry canes, (1 summer, 1 Autumn.) Whilst in the garden today I noticed how much growth was on both of them but I noticed the tips of some of the branches on the summer 1 were looking very sick & as soon as I touched the branches they came away at the main stem, this happened to about 15 branches.  :(
What could it be & is there anything we can do. They are growing up against a 6ft wooden fence, south facing.
Any thoughts.  ::)

Sounds like they may have been battered by recent winds. Probably not a lot you can do now.

Wind or cold. You could try to give some protection with fleece perhaps depending on how big they are. Hopefully the warmer weather will cheer them up (& us!)
