Unwell Hollyhock
« on: June 30, 2012, 11:05 »
Homebase were selling these off dirt cheap so I picked a few up in the hope that this is nothing too serious but any advice on what it may be would be greafully received before I plant it out.

Could be rust. Are those raised brown spots on the underside?

yep it looks like rust to me, but dont worry its common in hollyhock's - your best chance of getting rid of it is by using a fungicide spray  ;)

It's so common I'm not sure I've ever seen a hollyhock without rust!

RHS website here will tell you all you will ever need to know about it (possibly more!  ::))
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!
