I have come to the same conclusion, they not only take up room, I can never seem to store them very well they are fairly cheap to buy and they take quite a lot of effort to dig up but I am going to plant some first earlies this year and some seconds have ordered three varieties 1 first early and 2 second one being Maris peer luv um xx
some people are like slinkys......they're really good for nothing, but they still bring a smile to your face as you push them down the stairs!!

I'm not bothering with main-crop spuds either. Being in the ground so long means that they end up riddled by keel slugs

As far as I can remember, they were OK the following March/April. I also grow Sarpo Mira, which are not only blight resistant, but very slow to chit, so I tend to leave them last and use the others up first.
