Am wanting to add a source of heating to my hen house when the weather is extremely cold here, can hens see infrared red light? or should I just go with a heat tube - all comments and ideas welcome.

The main reason being I have not replaced a few of my hens that died this year and as yet I only have 3 hens and one is old and struggles when the weather is cold :oops: so would like to make it more comfortable for the old girls

Didn't think they needed heat over winter. Providing they have a draft free house at night I think they should be fine but sure someone more experienced with chickens will be along soon.
