What's a forcing pot do?
Denise

Haven't done it myself but

here's a 3 minute thing about forcing rhubarb

You can also do it with asparagus and sea kale.

I've heard that if you do it with dandilions the leaves aren't so bitter but you know, dandilions!!! Have tried it and hated it. Tastes a bit like rocket to me.
first there is a mountain then there is no mountain then there is

Do you have both those strips welly?  If so then you jammy dodger you!  The plots I am waiting for are the size of one strip only, used to be double that but demand is pushin the parish to half the size of the plots to allow more people on!  It's a very neat and well dug over site, I'm well impressed!

... the path is just a means of getting from one end to the other ...  :D

It's never occurred to me to split it up into smaller beds, I just carried on with the way it was before I got it.

I do love my plot and my lovely old shed!

Three Roses from the air, there are 14 adults with learning disabilities living here, most of them like to work in the garden, they enjoy eating the fruits of all our labour ! Its healthy exercise and therapeutic in lots of ways too .

Hubby on his way to work in the garden , what we would do without him !

Great pics Corndolly.  My brother in law lives in a sheltered community (Camphill type) and gardens most mornings.  He loves it.... although I'm not convinced he'd be the fastest worker!

ETA... Wellingtons, Sadgit and others.... I'm loving all these photos.  A real inspiration.

Salkeela ,We're enjoying the photos too ! I know the Camphill movement we are similar ,I,m sure your brother loves it. Our helpers are'nt the fastest either but they have lots of enthusiasm and are rightly proud of their achievements. :)

Three photos taken today after 2 weeks of rain - how stuff has grown - its been just like the (normal) weather in the UK - see photo below taken only about 3 weeks ago.  All spuds through and some flowering already and lots of flowers on broad beans.

Took no. 2 son (13 with DS) to my friends allotment the other day to do some digging.  he kind of jabbed at the concreted clay, muttered a bit and then asked when we were going home!  He does like to eat the produce, but isn't exactly a willing worker!  Mind you his friend becky (daughter of allotment holder) doesn't go down there at all, maybe it's just a teenage thing?!  At home he pops his head round the door to make sure I am where I said I would be, nods appreciatively at my hard work then retreats to the playroom again!

I don't know why none of my kids like the great outdoors, I can't bear to be indoors in this weather.
