Mine all stand around in the rain, don't worry they'll be ok :)

They'll find some shelter if it gets really bad :D

Is now a good time to tell you how sunny it is here ???  (sorry ) :)

I've noticed that our chickens do not mind the rain at all. They tend to get soaking wet though. I noticed once, when it was wet for a few days, they layed soft eggs. Has anyone else noticed this?

My hens love it - especially in the summer.  It must cool them off when they are too hot.  If it is chucking it down - like today - they take shelter though.
When I die I will slide in sideways, a glass of wine in one hand and chocolate in the other, screaming, "Whooo hooo!  What a ride!" as life is to be enjoyed to the fullest!

Not much rain here :(

Mine was out in it this morning,it was drizzly rain. They followed me back in their Pen after getting a light soaking and stayed there preening themselves.
They are not quite use to the rain yet....we don't get much here .

I think as long as they have somewhere to get away from the rain when they have had enough they can cope well.  Mine have cheap umberellas bought from pound shop.  Shade in the summer and shelter from the rain too.

I have tied down in the past but they tend to break so just fold them down or put in shed till needed again.  I tend to hammer a short lenght of down pipe into the floor/earth then you can pull them out more easily.  Under the brolly the earth stays dry and they can still have a dustbath too.

they did not seem to mind the rain in the summer, but as it is colder, tend to go into the run, as it is covered to get out of it now it is colder, its also a bit more sheltered from the wind, they do tend to go under the coop as it is raised for a dust bath, and perch along the coop leg supports, watching the weather.
