The point i was trying to make was that if Amanda had a bare patch of land on her plot after she finishes planting, then not to leave it uncovered and encourage weeds, but to cover it with black plastic to kill anything.  ;)

Can also be used to warm up the land prior to planting :) as good as glass but far cheaper

That's fine, but she might as well cover it with some plant life form, that's even better.

Manure, squashes, not by off chance people are saying that. No weeds will grow there either and not much to do with, really.

Not at this time in the year gobs   Far far too cold

Until later in the year, engineer and I are going for the black plastic for the reasons given  :D

Nobody is talking this time of year really, when empty 2 beds are discussed for the season. Are you having a blonde moment by any chance? :tongue2: It's freezing right now , not even weeds would grow.

Nothing growing! try telling my dock, couch grass and nettle seedlings, and maybe a few rooted root cuttings that it is the wrong time to be growing :(

Yeah, till this cold spell. Of course there will be the interlude from March to June. It's upto Mandy to make her mind up, what suits her.

We often argue, that's not necessarily a fall out. Three gardeners, five opinions.

Falling out? Whose falling out?

Don't worry. As gobs said, just different opinions.

Happens all the time when you get gardeners together

Hi Amanda, when i read your reply i thought you had actually been digging poly out of the plot ;) one thing to remember don't overstretch yourself, phyiscally or financially. Working your lotty should be fullfilling and rewarding ,not binding :D

by the way people don't fall out they only have different opinions
