After cutting down down our green beans (good crop this year) we have a number of dried pods left containing the actual beans (Scarlet Emperor). Does anyone have any suggested recipes please for these beans which we are storing drey in screw top jars? Thanks. Wellie.

I think they'll be fine in any soup or stew, but making use of seasonal veg from your lotty or garden.  

I'm making "lottistrone" today, using only what veg I picked yesterday, eg squash, celery, borlotti beans, onion, potato (I know it should be pasta but I don't grow that), shallot, garlic (yeah all of em   ), small leek  , fresh thyme.  Some cadged tomatoes will be going in too  

I've got some leftover bacon which will be fried off to start the ball rolling.  Home made bread to dunk

You can make dips with beans but I never had runner bean one but you could try it with some spicy home-grown chilli.  Someone here may well have already done so and can fill you in with a taste report
