Hi, they aren't in the run at all! They free range around the garden and within the garden they have a 25ft x 25ft secure area surounded by electric fence so that if there's no-one here during the day they are safe but still have loads of room to scratch around.  There are seven hens altogether - five orpingtons and two smaller hybrids. I'm pretty certain there is enough room inside the house for them all ...

Orpingtons are a large breed and even if your house is suitable for 12 birds it will not mean 12 Orpingtons - (I know you only have five plus two others) just trying to explain pro rata the numbers given are only ever a guideline. Having said that mamy manufacturers of hen huts over estimate the number that would be suitable!!

February 2013 - just to correct any misunderstanding, Framebow/Greenhill Joinery did not recommend the use of Clearseal on my hen arch. It was recommended by another supplier. Framebow/Greenhill Joinery have been extremely helpful in helping me to sort out the problem I have with my hen arch.  JC 20/02/13
