Breathing problems
« on: February 12, 2011, 23:00 »
My ex batt who we rehomed last Saturday with four others, looks exactly like the hen on YouTube who has gape worm - she's holding her head high, beak open and is taking deep breaths.  She is making no noise and has clear nose etc.

Shall I Flubenvet her just to be on the safe side?

All advice appreciated

Hi there Blarny.... I had never seen that video on 'youtube' before!  If she's showing the same symptons I would definitely use Flubenvet, atleast if there's no improvement you can then disreguard gapeworm...
good luck, hope she recovers... :)

I agree with Westview here.  It certainly can't do any harm to give flubenvet and be ready to take her to a chicken friendly vet if the symptoms don't improve.  Good luck.

I would worm her and the other four, and if there's no improvement take her to the vets. hope she recovers
