Broody Hens

New to brooding hens. My Silkie has been sitting on eggs for 23 days now. If these fail & I can't get hold of some day olds, would she sit for a further 3 weeks & is this fair to expect this of her?

I've moved you into the henhouse so a chicken person can advise. I'm more of a compost person.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.
