first ladybird

i decided to give my softfriut some bfb and hoe it in and there was a ladybird sitting on the stem never seen them this early at least they are ready for a feast on the aphids etc

We've seen them for ages now.  This morning one was sitting on the dashboard when we got in the car!

Yes they are, but they and their offspring do eat other insects babies. That is not a nice thing to do is it?

We've had 2 2-spot ladybirds in the office in as many days :ohmy: 

Great to see them out particularly as they're in decline

Not when it's a harlequin ladybird. They are a voracious predator introduced from abroad and in some places are decimating the native species!!

No it isn't nice, but that is why we all love them in the garden and the allotment.

Well in nature there will always be food chains and we cannot stop that. I also like to watch the North Amercan Grey squirrel not native to this country either but stll lovely!!
