No its definately not any of the suggestions made so far, I bought one of these from the garden centre last year and it wasn't a plant I was familiar with.  I've lost the bloomin label!  and can't remember what it was called!  ::)  Might have began with C...
No matter how many plants I have in my garden, I can always find room for one more.

I think New Shoot is correct!
small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required

Bearing in mind that the name of the shrub New Shoot has offered is Exochorda, do you think that where your C memory could come from?

It does look a distinct possibility from your photo

Definitely  "The Bride". My auntie Mary has one which I've tried to raise a cutting off for the last two years with no success. I shall try an air cutting this year, see if it fares better.

Back from a week away with work so popped straight out with the camera. Definitely 'the bride' in my view:

I have to say, its a beauty of a shrub. Cascades of flowers and a beautiful scent. Definitely one to consider!

I have a now large pieris in a tub at home and this year it has flowered for the first time in five years.
But I did give it a good feed with chicken pellets this year. It is covered in new growth.
Can it be pruned and if so when is the best time to do it?
